Creating spaces for connection, conversation and collaboration across salt and fresh water studies

Who are we?

ESTUARY is a transdisciplinary working group for student researchers, artists and practioners in the salt- and fresh-water humanities, social sciences and life sciences. Its goal is to provide researchers a space to discuss their water-related research, traversing disciplinary, national and institutional lines, forging new connections and opening opportunities for diverse conversations and collaborations.

We aim to maximise participation for researchers who may not be able to access these conversations in person due to Disability, caring responsibilities, and physical distance from fellow researchers by running all meetings online and creating a collaborative space on the Discord platform.

We run events approximately bi-monthly including thematic reading groups curated by group members, skills-based sessions on topics like publishing and applying for grants, and workshops focused on members’ works-in-progress.

We are always interested in welcoming more members!
